- Place the pump back in the tank.
- Turn the handle to the right a quarter of turn to lock the two tabs into the metal locking nut. Note: the handle must remain in the locked position. When spinning the handle to the left, do not push the handle down.
- Spin the handle to the left (counter clockwise) until it stops.
- Look at the triangle piece. If the threads are above the triangle, the pump is in the right starting position. If the threads are below the triangle, the lock and triangle are stuck together from the powder coating process.
- Put one hand on each side of the pump handle and force the handle to the left to free it up. Once it starts spinning, keep turning it to the left until it stops.
- Turn the triangle piece to the right (clockwise) and it should go under the second lip on the inside edge of the tank.
- Spin the pump handle to the right and it should start locking down into the tank properly for you.
- Important note: every time you open the sprayer whether it’s to clean it, refill it etc., always make sure the spin the handle to the left until it stops or you will run into this problem again.
